E-courses for personal and business development are a great way to continue to grow and develop your skills while working at your own pace, at home or on the road with summer travels. Here are a few people, places, and things that inspire me:
American Management Association Leadership Training – AMA’s leadership seminars help you develop the qualities of good leadership that are essential for career and organizational success and include topics such as team building, executive challenges, strategic planning, and decision making. Browse their extensive list of offerings (continually updated) here: www.amanet.org/training/seminars/leadership-training.aspx.
Liv Lane’s e-courses – If you manage a blog or have included blogging as one of your goals, Liv’s popular How To Build a Blog You Truly Love is back this fall, and in the meantime, she’s offering The Art of Choosing Beauty, that will leave you uplifted and energized in your daily routine. This e-course will show us how to find beauty in the people, places and things we encounter (starts July 15, 2013).
Harvard Business Review e-courses – Developed by Harvard Business School faculty, these self-paced learning programs provide fundamental skills for business professionals. Browse their offerings, which include Finance, Management, Accounting, Quantitative Methods, and IT for Management: http://hbr.org/store/landing/courses.
Mackenzie Image Consulting – If you’ve considered the world of image or etiquette consulting, fashion styling, and personal branding, check out the MIC Studio for Image Professionals. They offer e-courses, toolkits, community boards and image consulting certification, all accessed virtually. You’ve probably come across MIC’s Shauna or Megan in the Twitterverse (@MsShaunaMack, @MegsImageGuide), where they tweet industry and communication tips. Always sharing helpful information, they’re offering a webinar this week (June 26) on Hiring an Intern 101 (details here).
The last e-course on my list is meant to serve as a springboard for your own ideas! I’m sharing a photography e-course by Arrow & Apple that’s offered year-round; I suggest spending some time researching personal development that aligns with your own creative pursuits. It could be an e-course, a weekend workshop, a college class, a one day seminar or something in between!
