Can I Wear Black to a Wedding?

It’s wedding season and I have received multiple emails from women asking  “Can I wear black to a wedding?”. Here is my response:

Absolutely. The LBD (Little Black Dress) is a staple in every woman’s closet and considered an appropriate option when worn correctly. Surely, you wouldn’t want to wear a satin, one shoulder gown to an afternoon garden wedding, or a linen sundress to an evening affair. But, your choices are vast and there is a perfect LBD for every occasion, including a wedding. Just make sure it doesn’t look as if you are going to a funeral. A black dress, accessorized with a great piece of jewelry and fabulous shoes is always a classic and welcome at almost every occasion…unless you are the bride.
