Her website, The Preppy Hostess, is one of my favorites and I have asked Molly to pass along some of her tips on creating the perfect Easter table. I am sure you will find her beautifully-styled tablescape refreshing and inspirational.
Molly Says…
I can’t get enough of all the vibrant spring colors, flowers, and warmer weather lately. Setting a gorgeous table for Easter is one of my favorite things to do, and every year I like to go all out. With Easter just days away I thought I’d share my table with you all. When I saw the bunny themed plates at Pottery Barn last week, I just had to buy them. They’re a timeless item, and will be cherished season after season.
The Place Setting
I always like to work around one “focal point when working on a table. My mom and I found these gorgeous bunny plates at Pottery Barn, so they were the focus of our tablescape. They have the cutest design and every plate is a little different so they paired perfectly with the rest of my decor. I love that they have a neutral color pallet, so they’ll match with a variety of different colors. You can change your table colors up year after year, but still use these gorgeous plates.
Decorations
My next tip is adding in simple white bunnies. They’ll look perfectly fitting no matter what color your dishes are (or your flatware). I found mine at Pier 1 and they were actually pretty inexpensive. So I gathered up lots of bunnies to scatter down my tablescape. For extra greenery, a moss table runner added the perfect touch. It doesn’t matter what type of bunny you have, just add them down your table! It is Easter after all.
Napkins
Napkins are a great way to add a pop of color to your table. I paired these preppy plaid napkins with a floral napkin ring, and they really finished off the table. Napkins can be an inexpensive way to add color and impact to your table, and you can use them over and over again, unlike flowers.
Simple Tablescape
If you break down the elements of this Easter tablescape, it’s all very simple! Even if you don’t have bunnies, simple white vases of pretty pink and white flowers gives the same overall look and feel to the table. You could easily find inspiration in this design for everything from baby showers to bridal showers. And if you’re just starting out, simple white dishes are just fine too.
